District Stability Framework in Afghanistan
CTC-A Camp JulienA three-day District Stability Framework course took place at CTC-A Camp Julien, Kabul,11-13 Feb.
Attending the course were 44 representatives from all regional commands, Agriculture Development Teams, USAID, Civil Affairs units and company grade combat leaders.
First time trainee instructor Mr Abdul Sakhizada, a certified Afghan instructor, taught culture and perception dynamics.

“Mr Sakhizada is transition personified; he has worked at CTC-A for some time and is now part of a developing instructional capability, providing vital Afghan insight and perspective,” said lead DSF training coordinator Lt. Col. William Shanahan.
COIN and DSF courses are open to Coalition and GIRoA alike, integrating a broad cross section of counterinsurgents in Afghanistan.
The DSF is designed to directly target the root causes of instability using carefully thought out, cost effective activities.
CTC-A delivers the DSF each month on residential courses at Camp Julien and by on site Mobile Training Teams.
